Shea Moisture Hair Color-Bright Auburn

So I just wanted to take a minute to answer some of the questions I receive about my hair color. I colored my hair back in July 2014. I used one box of Shea Moisture Hair Color in Bright Auburn. I purchased the color from a hair show in NYC for $10 but it can be found in some local Target stores and on the Target website for $14.99 I believe. After watching a few Youtube videos about the Shea Moisture Hair Color and speaking to my Aunt who had previously used the color, I learned that I would need more than one box of color for the color to be really vibrant with the length and thickness of my hair. Not wanting to order another box and wait for it to be delivered, I decided to just use my one box and dye a portion of my hair (the top).

I really wanted my color to be red and vibrant so I saturated the top portion of my hair, using the whole box of dye. I used a dye applicator bottle along with my hands to distribute the color evenly. It took me about 30 minutes to work the dye in. I put a plastic cap over my hair and let the color sit for 45 minutes, sitting under the dryer for half the time. I pretty much followed the instructions that came with the color with the exception of the amount of time to leave the dye in; I left it in a little longer. My hair came out great!

It is now 6 months later so the color has faded to a dark auburn but it still looks great and I'm still receiving compliments on the color. This is the only color I've ever used that hasn't completely washed out of my hair so I am impressed. The color felt very creamy and left my hair feeling super-moisturized. I haven't noticed any breakage as a result of this color. Overall, I am very pleased with the Shea Moisture Hair Color and I would definitely recommend using it.
